Boston, Mass – April 20, 2016 – Dane Street, a leading provider of independent medical examinations (IMEs) and peer review services to the Workers’ Compensation, Auto, Disability, and Group Health markets, today announced the successful approval from the Pennsylvania Insurance Department to perform Peer Review Services under Act 6.
Cost containment is a top priority in today’s healthcare industry. As an approved Peer Review Organization (PRO), Dane Street will play a critical role in the implementation of medical cost containment under Act 6 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Under the statute, Dane Street is recognized for the purpose of evaluating reasonableness and necessity of care, the appropriateness of the setting in which care is delivered, and the quality of care rendered to injured persons covered by automobile insurance policies issued under the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law.
Dane Street will be monitored with periodic visits to ensure compliance with established performance standards. “It is critically important for organizations to make a commitment to quality and accountability. Approval of our PA PRO License is a demonstration of that commitment,” Dane Street CEO Will Fulton said.
